Producer
Set in the south-eastern corner of Moldova just 30km from the Black Sea, Chateau Purcari has long been associated with top quality wines made from both local and international grape varieties.
In 1827 Purcari was officially established as Bessarabia’s first winery by the Russian Tsar Nicholas I and its wines began to attract global attention by winning gold medals at the Paris World Exhibition in 1878. Today the winery is recognised as one of the region’s finest for its hearty reds and elegant whites.
Tasting Notes
Enchanting hints of green apple, honeysuckle and stone fruit define the nose while the palate offers mouthwatering freshness, a medium body, and a well-rounded texture with hints of cream and toasted oak from the barrel ageing. A great match for grilled fish, chicken dishes served with a rich, creamy sauce, or a generous platter of cheeses.
