Château Bela is old residence of Baron Ullmann’s family. It is located in Southern Slovakian Štúrovo wine growing area, near the Slovak-Hungarian border. The first vines in the area were planted by the Romans and today’s grapes are grown on the hills below the castle and vinified by talented local winemaker Miroslav Petrech and one of the most famous winemakers in the world Egon Müller from Germany.
Egon Müller has discovered the potential of wines in the Château Béla area in Slovakia and makes a dry Riesling which objective is to challenge the best Rieslings from Austria and the Alsace region. The first vintage was 2001, production volume is around 30 000 bottles per year.
