In 2008, the Schuchmann family established a winery in the heart of Georgia’s Tsinandali viticultural region. Driven by a passion for wine and drawing on their extensive travels, Mr. Burkhard Schuchmann decided to venture into the Georgian wine business. Fusing traditional Georgian winemaking practices with German ingenuity, Schuchmann aimed to craft wines that were not only age-worthy but also left a lasting impression.
Collaborating with renowned Georgian winemaker Giorgi Dakishvili, Schuchmann adheres to the belief that the key to producing quality wine lies in aligning grape varietals with the unique characteristics of the vineyard, including soil composition, sun and wind exposure, and the overall micro-climate. The winery operates across three distinct vineyard sites: Napareuli, Tsinandali, and Kindzmarauli, employing site-specific methods to produce wines from eight different grape varieties.
Schuchmann’s approach reflects a dedication to the meticulous interplay of traditional Georgian techniques and modern viticultural practices, resulting in a portfolio of exceptional wines that showcase the best of each vineyard’s terroir.
