Tasting Notes
Expressive aromas of pomelo, pineapple and white peach lead into subtle floral and spicy notes with a restrained touch of oak.
The palate is textural and layered, with peach and other white-fleshed fruits supported by vibrant acidity. Mocha, vanilla and gentle spice add complexity without overwhelming the fruit, leading into a long, fresh and mineral finish.

Founded in 1998 by Pascal Demkó, Holdvölgy Winery is a contemporary estate in Mád, at the heart of Hungary’s historic Tokaj wine region. What began with a small vineyard parcel has evolved into a dedicated exploration of Tokaj’s diverse terroirs, indigenous grape varieties and winemaking traditions.
The estate manages 30 individual parcels across seven historic vineyards, working with all six traditional Tokaj grape varieties. Each parcel is harvested and vinified separately, allowing its unique character to be preserved through meticulous selection and blending.
Holdvölgy’s portfolio ranges from dry estate blends and single-vineyard wines to Szamorodni, Fordítás and 6 Puttonyos Tokaji Aszú. Beneath its modern winery lies a 1.8-kilometre historic cellar labyrinth, with passages dating back approximately 500 years, restored between 2011 and 2013.
Combining centuries of heritage with modern winemaking precision, Holdvölgy showcases the remarkable diversity of Tokaj, from elegant dry wines to its celebrated traditional sweet wines.
