Saperavi de Purcari 2020 Limited Edition

$70.00

Kpo says: Moldovan Saperavi? Wow! How is it different from the Georgian ones??!!

It’s an explosion of grace, perfect for edgy combinations and the most surprising olfactory mixtures. This 100% Saperavi wine is endowed with rich scents of plum, cassis and blackberries. Characteristic of the Georgian grape, it is deep ruby in colour, with glints of violet. It wraps the mouth in decadent dark fruit flavours, with velvety tannins and a lengthy, evolving finish.

Vinified with care and dedication, Saperavi de Purcari impresses with its velvety tannins, full, opulent taste, evolving into a long and pleasant aftertaste, with complex aromas.

Set in the south-eastern corner of Moldova just 30km from the Black Sea, Chateau Purcari has long been associated with top quality wines made from both local and international grape varieties.

In 1827 Purcari was officially established as Bessarabia’s first winery by the Russian Tsar Nicholas I and its wines began to attract global attention by winning gold medals at the Paris World Exhibition in 1878. Today the winery is recognised as one of the region’s finest for its hearty reds and elegant whites.
