Edoardo Miroglio, the owner of Tenuta Carretta of Piedmont, Italy where they make their
famous Barolos and Babarescos, recognized the great potential of the Thrace Valley and
especially the region around the village of Elenovo. He found soils of outstanding quality
there and, after careful analysis, they established the current winery in 2002.

The winery is situated in the central part of a vineyard area spanning approximately 120
hectares. This area covers the slopes of “St. Elijah” hill, which gently descend towards the
village of Elenovo. Edoardo Miroglio Winery is located in the Thracian Valley, in the village
of Elenovo, just 22 kilometers from Nova Zagora. The winery is surrounded by vineyards
stretching across rolling hills, a picturesque lake, and lush green lawns.

The winery cultivates the vineyards using the traditional method of the Piedmontese
viticulture, passion invested in the Italian winery Tenuta Carretta.

Domaine Bessa Valley, in Bulgaria is owned and run by the owners of the famous Château Canon-la-Gaffelière and and La Mondotte of Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux, France. Founded in 2001.

Count Stephan von Neipperg – owner of six wine cellars in Bordeaux: Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere (Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe), La Mondotte (Saint-Emilion), Chateau Clos de l’Oratoire (Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe), Chateau Peyreau (Saint-Emilion Grand Cru), Chateau d’Aiguilhe (Cotes de Castillon), and Clos Marsalette (Pessac-Leognan).
The Neipperg family has been growing vines and making wines for 800 years.

The winery is situated in the Thracian Valley, located about 150 km southeast of Sofia, near
Plovdiv, an area with a rich history of viticulture dating back thousands of years. The valley’s
unique terroir, characterized by its clay and limestone-rich soils and favorable climatic
conditions, contributes to the production of exceptional wines.

Bessa Valley, bordered on the south by the Rhodope Mountains, and north by the hills of
about 230 m above sea level, offers an ideal location. The winds are rushing offset the excess
temperatures, hot or cold, continental climate related. It also benefits from the influence of
the Maritsa River, which flows some kilometers away.

Mixing together the classic French winemaking know-how and the ancient potent land of
the Thracian, that fill the air with the magic of the process and keep these traditions alive!
These wines are frequently praised for their complexity, balance, and excellent value.
