The Iacob Rosu is a polished and expressive cuvée that highlights the synergy between an iconic international grape and Romania’s most emblematic native variety. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Fetească Neagră reflects Davino’s philosophy of crafting wines with clarity, balance, and depth, positioned in the aspirational mid-range of the portfolio.

Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, dark berry fruit, and refined tannins, while Fetească Neagră adds a distinctive regional touch — soft spice, black cherry, and a silky mid-palate. The two varieties complement each other naturally, resulting in a wine that feels both modern and unmistakably rooted in its origin. Vinification focuses on gentle extraction and precise temperature control, followed by subtle oak aging (12 months 2nd use Romanian oak barriques) that enhances complexity without overshadowing the fruit profile.

The result is a medium- to full-bodied red, with aromas of blackberry, plum, dark cherry, and notes of pepper, dried herbs, cocoa, and a touch of vanilla from barrel maturation. The palate is smooth yet structured, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a long, elegant finish.
